Pendant – Tarif Kilometers Booklet for the Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Austrian State Railways for the year 1906

On the day of opening to public traffic (July 4, 1906), the narrow gauge line Sarajevo – Eastern Border (Sarajevo-Ostgrenze) was built. The Directorate of the Bosnia and Herzegovina State Railways (Bosnische-hercegovinische Staatsbahnen) issues a booklet of kilometer distances for local tariffs (Kilometerzeiger zu den Lokal-Tarifen) for the shipment of passengers, baggage, express goods, and animals.

The booklet of kilometer distances has been technically prepared and prescribed for the following railways:

  1. K. k. Bosnische-hercegovinische
    Staatsbahnen
  2. Bosnisch Brod – Sarajevo,
  3. Sarajevo – Gabela,
  4. Gabela – Uskoplje Landesgrenze, (državna
    granica)
  5. Uskoplje – Glavska Landesgrenze,
  6. Nagumanac Landesgrenze – Igalo Landesgrenze,
  7. Hum – Trebinje,
  8. Gabela – Metković,
  9. Lašva – Bugojno,
  10. Donji Vakuf – Jajce,
  11. Doboj – Siminhan,
  12. Karanovac – Gračanica,
  13. Sarajevo – Uvac und
  14. Megjegje – Vardište
  • K. k. österreichische Staatsbahnen (norddalmatinische
    Linien)
  • Uskoplje Landesgrenze – Gruž (Gravosa)
  • Glavska Landesgrenze – Nagumanac Landesgrenze
    und
  • Igalo Landesgrenze – Zelenika

When reviewing the kilometer tables, you will notice symbols *, **, +, and o. The symbol * indicates stations where trains stop only for staff and auxiliary personnel. The symbol ** refers to stations of the K. k. Austrian State Railways (Hercegnovi and Komaj), where trains for staff and operational institutions stop. The symbol + (cross) marks stations at specific kilometers for staff and limited freight traffic (Sutorina, Čilipi, and Mihanići). The symbol “o” denotes border crossings that are not established for local traffic and are only used for determining the distance from or to the state border, excluding the Sutorina area. Geographically, Sutorina is located in Bosnian territory, and 7.437 kilometers of it were built at the expense of the Government of BiH and are maintained and operated by the direction of the K. k. Austrian State Railways.

The booklet was printed in German in June 1906.
