
We are publishing sketches of the tunnels along the narrow-gauge railway route Bileća – Titograd from 1955, as a rare document from our archive.
During the review of the archival material, we noted the following data: The total number of tunnels is 8, all tunnels are 4.8 meters high, with the longest being tunnel no. 8 (Nikšić – /Stuba/ – Stubica) at 235.14 meters, and the shortest is tunnel no. 5, which is 12.7 meters long between Trubjela and Kusida. The greatest incline is on the Nikšić – Stubica route, at 16 per mille.
On the construction of the track, history:
The route of the narrow gauge railway Bileća – Titograd was gradually put into operation as follows: Bileća – Nikšić on July 12, 1938, and Nikšić – Titograd on July 12, 1948. The decommissioning of this route took place in two stages: Bileća – Nikšić on May 30, 1976, and Nikšić – Titograd on November 27, 1965, when the standard gauge track was built and put into operation.
