Construction work on the standard-gauge line of 1.435 m began at the end of 1947 and was completed with its opening to the public on March 28, 1951. Passenger traffic between Tuzla and Simin Han was discontinued during 1945. However, there was a narrow-gauge section from Krek – Upletaj Kanara – Tuzla – Slavinovići – Simin Han, functioning as an industrial railway. It is recorded that passenger service on this line was included until May 1954.
