Composition, submission, and equipment of telegrams: format and composition, submission of telegrams and phonograms, record-keeping, composition, dispatch, and reports. Morse writing device and its use: Parts of the Morse device, key, relay, typewriter, compass (circuit indicator), lightning-rod plate, and maintenance. Abbreviations in telegraph service: For the mobile service of passenger and freight vehicles. Telephone service: Purpose, telephone device, phonogram equipment, calling and answering, telephone schedules, the “noon” signal.
