{"id":34850,"date":"2025-07-14T10:55:42","date_gmt":"2025-07-14T08:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vremeplov.ba\/2025\/?p=34850"},"modified":"2025-07-14T10:55:47","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T08:55:47","slug":"train-schedule-vienna-wien-banja-luka-in-1882","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vremeplov.ba\/2025\/en\/2025\/07\/14\/train-schedule-vienna-wien-banja-luka-in-1882\/","title":{"rendered":"Train schedule Vienna (Wien) \u2013 Banja Luka in 1882"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vremeplov.ba\/2025\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15761\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We strive to make each article exclusive in some way with rare archival materials, and this time we are publishing the train schedule for the route <strong>Vienna \u2013 Banja Luka \u2013 Vienna<\/strong> effective from April 1882.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the history of building standard gauge tracks with a width of 1.435 mm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regular railway traffic between Vienna, Zagreb, and Sisak was established in 1862. The Sisak \u2013 Sunja \u2013 (Volinja) Dobrljin line was opened for traffic on April 10, 1882, from the Croatian side. Regarding the Bosnian side, the standard gauge line Dobrljin \u2013 Banja Luka was built and put into operation in December 1872, but by the end of 1875, it was discontinued for traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the Berlin Congress of 1878, Bosnia and Herzegovina came under Austro-Hungarian rule. After the reconstruction and repair of the existing railway, railway traffic between Banja Luka and Prijedor was established on December 1, 1878, and extended to Dobrljin by March 24, 1879.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first Bosnian-Herzegovinian railway line <strong>Banja Luka-Dobrljin<\/strong> received the long-awaited connection to the Austro-Hungarian railways, so the Banja Luka \u2013 Vienna and towards Budapest lines were put into operation on April 10, 1882.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the photo gallery attachment (two attachments), you can see the first train schedule for Vienna \u2013 Banja Luka \u2013 Vienna for March\/April 1882.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"pgc-sgb-cb wp-block-pgcsimplygalleryblock-grid \"
