The history of railways through photography and archival material
The core idea of this website is to serve as a synonym for the history of railways in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The author’s aim and greatest satisfaction would be for every visitor – especially railway enthusiasts – to find joy and feel the emotions of the “good old days” through the photographic content, while also serving as an educational resource for younger generations. It also seeks to preserve, respect, and ensure this segment of railway history in BiH is never forgotten.
About the
AUTHOR
of the website
In short
Srećko Ignjatović, from Semizovac near Sarajevo, is a man whose life and professional story are inseparably linked to the railway. He spent more than 40 years in the railway sector, working from 1978 to 2018. Although he did not have the opportunity to study at a university, his passion for the history of railways in Bosnia and Herzegovina made up for the lack of formal education through decades of independent research, collecting materials, and field work.
